About this Event

You CAN knit colorwork! This all-in-one introduction workshop will provide an introduction for a variety of colorwork techniques including stranded knitting (Fair Isle), intarsia, mosaic, helical, and slip-stitch knitting. We will learn about color dominance, how to read charts, manage yarns, swatch both flat and in the round, and more. This class is ideal for the newer knitter interested in building confidence as they explore various colorwork techniques.

Materials (Please bring to class):

  • Homework swatches completed (with yarn still attached)
  • Additional size US 6 (4.00 mm) circular needle (any length of needle will work fine but 16-24” is ideal)
  • 2-3 additional partial balls of worsted-weight yarn (solid-color wool yarn that contrasts well with the light colors used in swatches work best)
  • tapestry needle
  • Scissors
  • stitch markers
  • note-taking materials
  • sticky notes or magnetic board to keep your place on the chart
  • knitting bag filled with its usual treasures.
