About this Event
America's founding fathers and early citizens frequently enjoyed a wide variety of drinks—from beer, cider, rum, and applejack among the working classes to imported madeira, sherry, and Holland gin favored by the wealthy. Featured speaker Michael Carver, the Regimental Brewmeister, will guide attendees through the fascinations, flavors, and culture surrounding 18th-century tavern life and libations.
Carver, who holds a background in chemistry, has been brewing beer since 1994 and has presented extensively throughout the tri-state area on historic cocktails and colonial brewing traditions. Guests will have the opportunity to learn about traditional techniques while enjoying colonial beverages, a sampling of colonial stew with cornbread and a pleasant afternoon on the grounds of the Doylestown Historical Society Park.
