About this Event
Join us for an inspiring fundraising evening with Colonel Stuart Tootal, who commanded the 3rd Battalion, The Parachute Regiment - the first UK battle group to be sent in 2006 to Helmand Province, Afghanistan, for which he was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (DSO), for his inspirational leadership under fire.
Colonel Stuart will share powerful stories from his outstanding military career - lessons in mental resilience, leadership in adversity, decision making and motivation. His gripping storytelling, combined with practical leadership insights, ensures audiences leave with a renewed sense of resilience and strategic thinking.
The 3 PARA Battle group saw one of the most intense periods of fighting experienced by the British Army since the Korean War. Corporal Bryan Budd of 3 PARA was posthumously awarded the Victoria Cross, and Corporal Mark Wright of 3 PARA received the George Cross posthumously.
On returning to the UK, Stuart set up the Parachute Regiment Afghanistan Trust charity, raising £3.7M for wounded paratroopers. Stuart has been the global head of security for a major corporate bank, and the author of four books including the Sunday Times best-seller Danger Close.
