Collectio Musicorum presents "I've Heard it Before " (Hybrid)
A concert of music based on texts from previous centuries, from the Middle Ages and Renaissance, as well as settings of haiku by Basho, the great Japanese poet. It will also include music from the Montpellier Manuscript, assembled in the early 14th century, and the single surviving composition by Chipre, a composer from the island of Cyprus.
Performers will include Monica Camafreita, singer, and Richard Walker, instrumentalist. Dr. Jeff S. Dailey, who has a close connection with the Jacques Marchais Museum, directs Collectio Musicorum ("Collection of Music"), an ensemble celebrating its 11th anniversary which has performed annually at the museum for the last few years.
