About this Event
Join us for a Collage Poetry Hang with Casey Britton!
Event Location: Time and Peace Cafe and Gallery (36 S 7th St, Philadelphia PA 19106)
Get ready to unleash your creativity at this in-person event where you'll create unique collage poetry with the guidance of the talented Casey Britton, poet and creator of the art & literary digital magazine Gypsophila (@gypsophila on IG).
Bring an old comic book/magazine or use the provided materials to craft your masterpiece. Whether you're a seasoned poet or just starting out, this hangout is perfect for all skill levels. Don't miss out on this opportunity to mingle with fellow poetry enthusiasts and have a blast expressing yourself through art!
As Casey herself describes it, "Collage poetry is a good way to get yourself writing when you don’t have the words. Using premade text from old magazine headings and article names gives you the creative freedom to piece things together without the brainpower to need to come up with the words themselves. "
Tickets for this are sliding scale $15-$25, with some supplies provided. We recommend bringing your favorite found scraps or magazines to dig through for inspiration!
The last 30 minutes of the workshop will be an open mic style show-and-tell opportunity for people to share their poems with the group.
Food and beverages available for purchase throughout the event! Cozy up with us and make some art.
