This immersive, hands-on crafting workshop invites participants to reframe the symbol of the coffin not as a marker of finality, but as a sacred vessel for personal transformation and release.
Participants begin by pouring a custom coffin shaped candle using Fall scents
Designed to be burned at home with a specific intention. As the flame consumes the wax coffin, the physical structure collapses and melts away, visually and energetically symbolizing the dissolution of whatever burdens the participant and is ready to release.
Next, attendees create a coffin pendant to serve as a wearable amulet or personal talisman. It can remind the wearer that they have laid old anxieties to sleep, serving as a protective shield that keeps past patterns from draining current vitality.
Last, are two coffin boxes to decorate. Using decoupoage techniques, paint and other art mediums, these can be used for ancestoral memory, or emotional closure, or even just as Fall decor.
One could be used to hold items that carry heavy nostalgia—old letters, photographs, written notes of things to release.
The other box can represent the fertile ground left behind after a release and could hold items such as seeds, crystals, or written manifestations for the future, proving that every ending provides the exact nutrients needed for a fresh begin
