About this Event

Do you have an old family photograph you’re not sure how to preserve, fragile newspaper clippings you want to protect, or a family scrapbook or heirloom that holds a special place in your heart? Join us for “Coffee with a Curator” on Friday, December 4, and get practical advice on caring for the pieces of family history that mean the most to you!

Rob Glover, Archival and Collection Specialist at the DeKalb County History Center, will lead an informal conversation about preserving family treasures. He’ll start with general tips and best practices for caring for photographs, documents, scrapbooks, and other cherished items. Then, you’ll have time to ask your own questions and receive practical suggestions tailored to your preservation concerns.

Coffee with a Curator will also offer a behind-the-scenes look at the work of the History Center and its archives. Whether you’re curious about preserving family heirlooms, donating items to the museum’s collection, researching local history, or finding historical resources, this is a welcoming space to ask questions and learn from our collections expert.

Bring your questions, grab a cup of coffee, and let’s talk history! Coffee and conversation are free, but pre-registration is encouraged. Everyone is welcome!
