WHO & WHAT: all current members are invited to gather together for a special Coffee & Pastry Social to present 3 potential blueprint plans and shape our 2027 structure together over some delicious treats!WHEN & WHERE: Wed, Nov 4, 10 am, AZALEA COFFEE STATION, CARGO DISTRICT, 1502 Castle St, Wilmington, NC
Our chapter has grown into a community for creativity and friendship since it's beginning in 2018. Our USk mission is to connect, draw and share where we live and travel. Running 38 succesful sketch meets per year for over 8 years, totalling at least 285 sketch meets, has been a massive undertaking. As we look toward 2027 we are at an important turning point for our beloved sketch meets, and we need your voice to help decide the path we take. To ensure a successful, long term chapter continuation without leader burnout, our framework must change. A team based chapter will assure continuation of the joy we experience as this group of urban sketchers.
What is on the table?
~~Sweets provided, purchase your coffee, latte or tea.
~~Meet and Greet, as we have new & current members to welcome!
~~A look to upcoming 2026 calendar events, including Holiday Social!
~~We will be reviewing, discussing and choosing together between 3 paths ----the special reveal of our plans for the future:
1. the ideal path continues a current frequency & variety of locations, dividing up our chapter tasks into tiny, bite-sized volunteer groups so nobody burns out;
2. a restricted-location fallback plan with several fixed base sites for check in before walking to your fav sketching scene;
3. a scaled down survival plan that cuts back frequency of sketch meets, using previous sites to reduce volunteer footprint.
Whether you have been sketching with us since day one or you are a brand-new member who hasn't made it out to a sketch meet yet, your voice and your presence matter immensely to the future of this chapter.
Come for the treats, stay for the creative connection, and help us ensure USk Wilmington remains a welcoming haven for years to come.
