About this Event
Join us for three open play sessions hosted by Simply Mahjong at Espresso 22 Coffee Shop, right in the heart of Powell! Enjoy complimentary pastries and grab a delicious coffee to sip on while you play and enjoy some friendly competition, (coffee not included in ticket).
Simply Mahjong will have mats, tiles, and 2026 National Mah Jongg League cards ready to go each week, and Margo and Sydney will be on hand for questions, tips, and guidance to help everyone feel comfortable at the tables. Just show up, grab a coffee, and you’ll be ready to play! Each week, we’ll also raffle off an Espresso 22 gift card!
Tickets are sold separately for each date, so be sure to purchase a ticket for each session you’d like to attend. Feel free to request to play with friends, but we’ll also plan to rotate tables throughout the two hours so you can meet some new mahjong friends along the way!
All levels are welcome, including newer players. This is the perfect opportunity to practice after taking our 101 or 102 class, or for anyone who has been playing for years. We do ask that all players have a basic understanding of the game, as formal lessons will not be provided during these open play sessions.
This is an OUTDOOR patio event! we hope each time will be a nice fall morning, however we know Ohio weather can have other plans. If the weather is too cold or rainy - or both! we will issue a full refund and communicate all rescheduling options via email and Instagram.
