Join us THIS MONDAY, Nov 9, for a FREE writing workshop at The Garden District Book Shop with Christopher Louis Romaguera! The Importance of Writing for Your Dead and Your Ghosts:
Writing about death is one of the hardest things an author has to deal with; but one of the most powerful aspects in writing, is the ability to write for the dead and speak to your ghosts. In this workshop we will explore writing to our ghosts, whether it be to ancestors we’ve never met or people we’ve known in this world who we’ve lost. Writer and translator of Charras: A True Novel of the Assassination That Roiled the Yucatan Christopher Louis Romaguera will share excerpts from his translation, as well as from some examples in literature. There will be reading, a discussion, and some writing exercises. Please bring your preferred writing materials. This workshop is suitable for writers of all levels.
Copies of Christopher Louis Romaguera’s book Charras: A True Novel of the Assassination that Roiled the Yucatan can be purchased at The Garden District Bookshop, but the workshop will take place in The Chicory House.
November 9, 5 pm at The Garden District Book Shop, 2727 Prytania Street with cocktails (purchased before) at Bar Epilogue in the bookshop
