About this Event
Artificial intelligence may seem intangible, but the systems powering it depend on data centres, land and resources. Their development raises questions about who benefits, who bears the consequences and whose voices are heard when decisions are made.
Join Concordia's jurist-in-residence, Morton S. Minc, as he welcomes Karina Kesserwan, Lawyer/Strategic Advisor, Kesserwan Arteau and KAIA for a lecture titledL Cloud on Land: Virtual AI, Real-World Consequences. Who Gets to Decide?
Overview
From autonomous AI agents to environmental challenges, emerging technologies are raising legal questions we never imagined having to answer. Are our existing laws equipped for this new reality? Whose rights and interests should they protect? And who gets to make the rules?
Drawing on surprising real-world examples, emerging legal controversies, humour and Indigenous perspectives, we will look beyond the technology itself and consider what kind of future we're creating.
