Before playlists, algorithms, and streaming took over, mixtapes were how we found the music that mattered. They gave us classics, introduced us to artists, and had us downloading songs off LimeWire knowing damn well we might destroy the family computer. 😂
On Sunday, August 23rd, Close Friends is taking over Historic Bar Room and pressing play on the mixtape era.
We’re talking the songs that had the streets, the blogs, the burned CDs, and your homie’s aux cord in a chokehold. From Mixtape About Nothing to So Far Gone, Kush & OJ, Trap or Die and everything in between.
Come kick it, grab a drink, sing some shit you forgot you knew word-for-word, and celebrate an era when finding new music felt different.
