Each year, the Tacoma Tree Foundation, Pierce County, and the City of Tacoma partner to host the Climate Leadership Cohort, a program that connects frontline community members—vulnerable, underserved, and underrepresented residents—with City and County staff, elected officials, and community organizations so they can take climate action in their neighborhoods and communities! The Climate Leadership Cohort Graduation is where participants present their capstones - projects that they have designed to encourage civic engagement, strengthen community relationships, and take action on climate issues - to the public. This year, participants will be presenting their work on topics such as animal justice, food waste reduction, integrating Tribal partnerships to climate policy, promoting equitable green space management, wildfire and public health awareness, and many more. Presentations will be followed by a community celebration.
We hope you will join us to learn from and celebrate the 2026 Climate Leadership Cohort and their work!
This program is thanks to Tacoma Creates.
