The 2029 Legal Ethics Certification Exam is a series of three video vignettes that will take you a few years into the future. We’ll watch four attorneys take a fictional ethics certification exam that is administered, proctored, and scored by an AI hologram. Each vignette will be followed up with a panel discussion of the issues raised. The topics presented include navigating the ethical issues that arise when representing corporate entities, incorporating generative AI tools into the practice, duties to prospective corporate clients, deepfakes and other false or misleading evidence, withdrawing from representation, winding up a practice, a lawyer’s duties under Rule 5.3, navigating the fallout of a network breach, and of counsel relationships and the conflicts they bring.
