Start with a soft block of air-dry clay and finish with a piece you shaped and painted yourself. Part craft, part creative flow, and entirely yours to take home. What you'll experience:
This workshop runs across two sessions, one week apart.
Session 1: Sunday 29 November, 11:00 (Shaping). You'll roll, cut and shape your own tray from air-dry clay, adding the little raised seeds that make it so special. It's perfect for jewellery, keys or your bedside table. Your friendly Creart host will guide you step by step. There's something genuinely calming about working with clay, and no two trays ever come out the same. Your piece then stays with us to dry completely.
Session 2: Sunday 6 December, 11:00 (Painting & glazing). You'll return to your fully dried tray, ready to bring it to life. Paint your tray, then finish with a glaze that seals it and gives it a beautiful glossy shine. Keep the classic colours or make it your own. The choice is entirely yours! Your finished tray goes home with you the same day.
The essentials:
One ticket covers both sessions.
All materials provided: air-dry clay, rolling and shaping tools, acrylic paints, brushes and glaze
No experience needed: just bring yourself and your creativity
Two sessions of around 2 hours each, one week apart
Enjoy unlimited coffee and delicious sweets at each session
Take home your finished tray at the end of the second session
Please Note: Air-dry clay is different from traditional pottery. It isn't fired in a kiln, so it's lighter and more delicate than ceramic and isn't waterproof or food-safe. Your tray is a decorative piece, perfect for jewellery, keys and small items.
Good to know:
Clay needs to dry fully before it can be painted, which is why this workshop runs across two visits. Come a few minutes early to settle in and grab a coffee, and wear something you don't mind getting a little clay on. Everyone's welcome, from beginners to confident creatives.
