About this Event
The Classical Piano Salon returns for its second major edition with an evening of exceptional young pianists, distinguished mentorship, and community connection. Created by Polish pianists Elżbieta Bilicka and Mateusz Mikołajczak, CPS is an intimate New York concert and educational series rooted in Polish cultural tradition, bringing together established artists, emerging musicians, and promising young students through performances and public masterclasses.
Following its sold-out inaugural edition at the Kościuszko Foundation Hall, the Fall ’26 Salon moves to the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in New York.
Robert Carlson, DMA candidate at the CUNY Graduate Center, opens the evening with Rachmaninoff’s Étude-tableaux in C minor, Op. 33 No. 3, Scriabin’s Étude No. 8, Op. 42, and Schumann’s Symphonic Études, Op. 13. Victoria Wong, a Juilliard and Manhattan School of Music alumna recently named by CBS Music among Canada’s Top 30 Under 30 Classical Musicians, follows with Chopin’s Piano Sonata No. 2 in B-flat minor, Op. 35 and Preludes, Op. 28, Nos. 20–24.
The evening’s star attraction is the legendary Jerome Lowenthal—celebrated pianist, revered teacher, and longtime Juilliard professor whose influence spans generations of extraordinary musicians. His presence brings an exceptional level of artistry and prestige to the Salon, offering audiences a rare chance to experience the wisdom of one of the great figures of the American piano tradition.
In a signature Salon moment, Professor Lowenthal will lead a public masterclass with a selected gifted teenage pianist, creating an intimate, inspiring encounter between one of the piano world’s most distinguished mentors and the next generation of talent. The student will be announced soon.
This is more than a concert—it’s a rare opportunity to witness great musical minds meeting across generations, right here in New York.
The evening will conclude with a reception featuring traditional Polish food and wine, offering guests an opportunity to continue the conversation, connect with the artists and fellow music lovers, and experience another cherished part of Polish cultural tradition.
Join us for an unforgettable evening of outstanding piano playing, inspiring mentorship, and famously generous Polish hospitality!
