The Halloween season is a great time to see the 1974 film Abby at the Gantt. The movie follows a marriage counselor who becomes possessed by a demon after her father-in-law, an exorcist, frees it in Africa. The film stars Carol Speed as the title character, with William H. Marshall and Terry Carter. This blaxploitation horror film was a major hit upon release, but was pulled from distribution after Warner Brothers sued, claiming it was a rip-off of its popular 1973 film, The Exorcist.
