About this Event
CLASS THREE: All Things Baby
This class discusses babies: what a newborn looks like, and what to expect in the first week. It includes routine procedures and navigating choices. Sleep strategies are discussed including taking turns and accepting help. Car seat safety and babywearing are included. Discuss creating a birth bubble with a newborn.
An extensive discussion on breastfeeding includes what is normal for the first 72 hours, how to set yourself up for success, learning to read hunger cues, and how to know if the baby is getting enough. Understanding supply and demand helps the person navigate growth spurts and family myths. Feeding-adjacent skills like pumping, paced-feeding with the bottle, and partner involvement.
This three-hour class is an intensive time that helps the person feel prepared for welcoming a new human into their life. It is appropriate for first-time folks and for those with other babies, because every baby is different. The class will utilize newborn care stations for hands-on practice.
