Class of ’79 are a first-class ticket back to a time when the urgency, rawness and bite of late ’70s punk lit a fuse that’s been burning for 50 years. Steve Crittall, Phil Thompson, Simon Bowley and Mike Lea are scene veterans, and they’re back to rip through a set that takes you back to a time when music mattered.
Setting the pace with their madcap brand of craft and chaos are the Gimme Gimme Gimmes, twisting instantly recognisable punk intros into gloriously unhinged parodies of songs with a Scottish link, no matter how loose the connection.
