Needle Felting on the Flatwith Artist, Tami Fuller
1-day workshop
Friday, November 13th from 11:00am-1:00pm
In this hands-on course, you will acquire the foundational skills and expert techniques needed to create 2-dimensional artworks using wool and needle felting. Students will learn essential needle felting techniques that can be adjusted and scaled to future projects, from abstract, figurative or landscape, starting with how to select the best tools and materials for successful results. Supplies provided will focus on birds as possible subjects to make your first projects easy and stress-free. Students may choose from a variety of templates to create their own working pattern, or explore abstraction, even free form experimentation with the guidance of the instructor. We'll cover the basics of composition to ensure your final piece is visually appealing, and master methods for blending wool colors to expand the working palette and strategically build dimension, shape, light, and shadow for a more realistic feel in the subject. A variety of materials will be discussed and available for experimentation, including silk, thread and experimental organic materials.
