About this Event
Arts Council Writer-in-Residence at DCU, Sarah Gilmartin, will host an afternoon event with three acclaimed up-and-coming Irish writers, Fíona Scarlett, JP McHugh and Niamh Mulvey.
Exploring the role of social class in contemporary Irish fiction, this panel discussion will focus on themes of belonging, identity and inequality in their respective works. From the grit and heart of north Dublin working-class communities in Scarlett’s novels, to the small island antics that light up McHugh’s fiction, to Mulvey’s incisive writing on the broader social changes of our recent past, these are stories steeped in community and place that ask important questions about who we are today.
Join us for an engaging afternoon of literary chats, author readings and an audience Q and A.
