Hear from Pittsburgh teens, connect with educators and partners, and shape the future of community-connected learning.About this Event
How can learning prepare young people to shape their lives, their communities, and what comes next?
The caring adults in young people’s lives have a responsibility to listen to them and to connect better with one another, so we can unlock what’s possible for community-connected learning across Pittsburgh. During this event we’ll do both and together, we’ll explore how learner agency, civic engagement, community-based learning, and future-ready skills help young people build the capacity and confidence to contribute to a thriving society.
What to Expect
- Young people leading the way. Teens share what it means to have a meaningful role in shaping their communities, then facilitate table conversations where attendees imagine what’s possible together.
- Civic thriving in practice. Learning leaders show what this work looks like in Pittsburgh classrooms and communities.
- New relationships, new opportunities. A structured networking experience helps educators and community partners learn what each needs and offers, and find ways to collaborate in and outside the classroom.
- A shared path forward. A conversation about the learning experiences, evidence, and investments needed to bring these opportunities to more young people.
