Calling all Green Isle residents, artists, and creators!Are you tired of just waving your hands enthusiastically at local parades? Good news: The City of Green Isle is looking for its very first official city flag! A great city deserves a great flag - a unifying symbol that represents our history, our natural beauty, and our community.
We are calling on local artists, students, designers, and residents of all ages to submit their original designs. The contest is open to everyone, regardless of age or professional experience. (And yes, we want a design so simple a child could draw it from memory—or at least so your neighbor can easily paint it on their cornhole boards!)
🖌️ Contest Highlights:
100% Human-Made: To ensure authenticity, this contest has a strict anti-AI policy. The use of artificial intelligence tools (such as Midjourney, Co-Pilot, Grok, DALL-E, generative fill, and yes, even me, Gemini!) to create, brainstorm, or refine any part of the flag design is strictly prohibited. Keep your prompts to yourself; we want your brainpower!
Amazing Prizes: The winner will receive a ceremonial first printing of their flag, and a plaque at City Hall recognizing them as the ultimate flag-designing champion of Green Isle!
Winner Announcement: The winning design will be officially announced on September 26th, 2026, during Green Isle Heritage Days at a special flag-raising ceremony!
Deadline: Don't procrastinate! All submissions are due by Friday, May 29th, 2026.

Once completed, you can submit your masterpiece in one of two ways:
Email: Send this completed form and your digital design to [email protected] with the subject line "Flag Contest Submission".
In-Person/Mail: Drop off or mail your form and artwork to: City of Green Isle, P.O. Box 275, 310 McGrann St, Green Isle, MN, 55338.
We can’t wait to see your incredible designs! Let’s create a flag we can all be proud of.
