About this Event

The Details

Join us for a day of woodland management and become a Citizen Forester with City of Trees!

This event is not suitable for groups of corporate volunteers.

We are carrying out this work to maintain a healthy and sustainable woodland that supports local wildlife and the surrounding community. The work will involve using a range of tools, including pruning saws, bow saws, secateurs, and loppers. Litter pickers will be provided, and our staff will provide all the necessary training needed to carry out the tasks.

We will be largely crown lifting (cutting back lower branches of trees) to allow more light into the woodlands, creating dead hedges, felling small trees, removing dominant and invasive species, and creating paths through the woodland.

All tools will be provided; please wear suitable clothing for outdoor work and sturdy footwear. Drop in for an hour or stay the whole day - you will be guided throughout the day so no prior experience is necessary. This activity is suitable for adults.
