Koncert pro reproduktorový orchestr, velký gramofon a dva účinkujícíMakrograph je obří gramofon, na kterém lze „přehrávat“ desky o průměru 82,9 cm z nejrůznějších materiálů a s rozmanitými povrchovými strukturami. Zatímco u tradičního gramofonu hrot projíždí drážkou a převádí vibrace na zvuk, Makrograph snímá povrch desky laserovým paprskem. Takto získaná digitální data pak tvoří zdrojový materiál pro kompozici.

Concert for loudspeaker orchestra, large turntable and two performers
Makrograph is a giant turntable capable of “playing” records with a diameter of 82.9 cm made from a wide variety of materials and featuring diverse surface textures. Whereas a traditional turntable uses a stylus that travels through a groove and converts its vibrations into sound, Macrograph scans the record’s surface with a laser beam. The resulting digital data then serves as the source material for musical composition.
