Once in a while, a band comes along that is hard to pigeonhole. One of these is The Wee 4. Now, they've added the amazing talent of Debbie Arthurs to make The Wee 4+1 (The Wee 5). And, yes, they're all vocalists too! Last seen at the GJC in February 2025. THE BAND
• Megs Etherington – Cornet and Trombone
• Zoe Lambeth – Reeds
• Ken Ames – Guitar and Banjo
• Peter McCurrie – Basses
• Debbie Arthurs – Drums and Saxes
PREVIOUS GJC REVIEWS
• A very entertaining tour through the history of jazz by four talented musicians who were clearly enjoying themselves as much as the audience. Enjoyed their music. Their great rapport with the audience made for a good night. Hope to see them again soon.”
• A great evening of mainly gentle jazz by four very talented musicians. Great selection of tunes and good repartee with the audience.
• A talented four. Good having four and very smartly dressed. Bring ‘em back.
• A great collection of talented musicians playing in great harmony. Ever so brilliant.
• A new, smaller group to us, but all four known to GJC, with Zoe from Beachcomber many years ago. Playing a historic tour through the trad jazz classics, they were very well received. Although only four in the band, they made up for that number by playing nine instruments between them!
