About this Event
Learn the art of hand embroidery with be alice!
Alice is a passionate embroiderer, inspired by Ireland. Designs like this Celtic Christmas Tree are what she loves to teach. After studying at the Royal School of Needlework in London, Alice returned to Dublin in 2017 to share her love of the craft. Embroidery is not only a useful skill, but a mindful and relaxing hobby. In this short workshop, Alice will show you the absolute basics - from which fabric to use, to how to thread the needle. After that we will move on to 2 fundamental stitches - fly stitch and french knots. This class is suitable for complete beginners.
This class will be held at Small Changes café. The cafe will be open for drinks while we stitch. Please feel free to arrive early if you would like to get food (they have a fab menu!)
All the materials and equipment you need will be provided on the day. Your kit will include fabric, threads, needles and instructions. Your materials are included in the price of the class.
Embroidery is a slow process, so the piece may not be completed within the class. But we will make sure that you are confident enough in everything you've learned, to finish the work at home.
If you have any questions about this class, please email them to [email protected]
Places must be booked in advance as I cannot accept walk-ins on the day.
