Applicants,
You are invited to attend the California Highway Patrol (CHP) Central Division Applicant Preparation Program (APP) Academy Prep Workshop. The workshop will help you prepare for the mental and physical demands of the CHP Academy.
Workshop Details
Date/Time: Saturday, October 17, 2026, at 0800 hours
Location: CHP Central Division, 5179 N Gates, Fresno.
Dress Attire:
- Professional Business attire is required
Itinerary Includes (but is not limited to):
- Drill
- Recruit Training Office Reporting
- Knowledge Preparation
- Floor workout and run
What to Bring:
- Printed and signed Physical Training Waiver: Physical Training Waiver Link
- Water
- Bring your CHP Academy boots (If you have them already—start breaking them in and building a good polish base!)
- Workout attire: Black T-shirt preferred (white is acceptable, must be tucked in), dark workout bottoms (shorts, sweats, or leggings), and athletic shoes
- Weather-appropriate gear (hat, sunblock, hoodie, gloves, etc.)
- Something to take notes with
Upon Arrival:
- Enter the parking lot via Jacquelyn Avenue
- Back your vehicle into an available stall
- Line up at the front entrance in ALPHABETICAL order, by last name
- Wait for further instruction
Important Reminders:

- BE ON TIME – If you are late, you will not be permitted to participate.
Academy Tip:
Start studying your knowledge material now, and if you already have your boots start wearing them daily to break them in.
