Join us on Saint Luke's Day for our first Evensong of the year at 4:00 PM, followed by an organ recital by Daniel Dorty at 5:00 PM.There will be a reception following the recital.
Daniel L. Dorty is the collaborative pianist and organist for the acclaimed Susquehanna Chorale. He is also the Director of Music and organist at Derry Presbyterian in Hershey and the accompanist for the Messiah College Choral Arts Society. Prior to coming to Derry Presbyterian in 2026 Dan served as the Director of Music and Organist at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish in Mechanicsburg and organist and music director at Camp Hill Presbyterian Church.
Dan maintains a private studio, teaching organ, piano, and voice in Boiling Springs PA. He has accompanied the Messiah College Choral Arts Society, the Wheatland Chorale, Central Pennsylvania Oratorio Singers, the Harrisburg Opera Company, Men in Harmony, and many other choirs, professional vocalists, and instrumentalists.
Dan studied sacred music at Messiah College with a concentration in organ. He is a member of the American Guild of Organists, where he has served on the Board of the Harrisburg Chapter, and the American Choral Directors Association. A Shippensburg native, he grew up in Shippensburg and Newville Presbyterian churches.
