We are thrilled to announce our new special guest, our beloved Chisato Ohno, well known from her collaboration with Nederlands Dans Theater 2, Batsheva Dance Company and Karas of Saburo Teshigawara. She has worked with choreographers including Jiří Kylián, Johan Inger, Paul Lightfoot, Ohad Naharin, Mats Ek and Sharon Eyal. Developing Artistry — Dancing Through It
In this workshop, we will explore new ways of moving, noticing our habits and patterns, and learning to shift them in the moment. The aim is to step out of autopilot and become more aware, curious, and responsive. Through different tasks and settings, we will practice listening to the body, observing what’s happening, and making honest choices about what to do next. Rather than moving just for the sake of moving, we will use movement as a way to research, discover, and develop artistry and nuance.
Each day will begin with a Gaga-inspired class to explore and expand our physicality.
Having danced all my life, I have found that the clarity and calm of the studio helps me process the world and stay grounded. That feeling of being completely present and focused is something we can practice — and something I believe is valuable both in and outside the studio. Together, we will explore dance not as a sport or leisure activity, but as a way to connect, process, express, and move forward.
