About this Event
Come COOK UP A STORM with us and YYC Noodle Festival 2026 as we watch an international culinary competition become a battleground between rival cooks, one famous for his Cantonese street food and the other a Michelin-starred chef trained in France. Their rivalry takes an unexpected turn when they discover a common foe and combine their skills in a fusion of East and West!
Opening up the evening will be Pulled Strings, a short documentary by local Calgary filmmaker Vicki Van Chau, witnessing the unspoken relationship between father and daughter as he teaches the ancient art of handpulled noodles.
Thanks to our local sponsors Hung's Noodles and Respect the Technique for the evening's noodle tasting, where the chefs at MSBCA will combine Hung's Miki Noodles 福建熟油麵 with Jonny's World Famous Rayu, making a deliciously chewy and umami-rich pairing!
Drinks, jars of Rayu and other snacks by the MSBCA are also available for purchase.
This event is generously supported by the City of Calgary Chinatown Activation Microgrant
Special thanks to Emperor Motion Pictures
