MUSIC IS MURDER PRESENTS: CHIMEHOURS + DEPARTMENT FACTORYTwo distinctive projects exploring the darker, stranger and more atmospheric corners of experimental music.
CHIMEHOURS are Beck Goldsmith and Jon Dix, a UK-based project weaving together cinematic, horror-flecked contemporary folk, hauntological dreampop and supernatural soundscapes. Somewhere between the earthly and the otherworldly, their music conjures unsettling, dreamlike atmospheres with a distinctly cinematic edge. The duo have also composed music for film and television. Their debut album, Underneath the Earth, is released via Cold Spring Records and available on CD, black vinyl and earth-green vinyl - including on the night.

DEPARTMENT FACTORY is the solo live improvisational project of Matthew North, a musician whose career spans some intriguing musical territory. A founder member of gothic rock band All Living Fear and Secrets for September, Matthew also played guitar with jazz legend Mike Westbrook. His solo work explores electronics, improvisation and experimental sound, while his increasingly popular Matthew North Music YouTube channel delves into the fascinating intersections of music, electronics and retro technology.
