About the conference :

In a world marked by multiple crises and increasingly fragile child protection systems, children in street situations remain among the most marginalised and exposed to violence.

On the occasion of World Children’s Day, the FAAI (Fondation Apprentis d’Auteuil International) , in partnership with the Master in International and Development Studies (MINT) at the Geneva Graduate Institute, is organising a conference to discuss how to better respond to these realities.

Young people with lived experience of street situations will be at the heart of the discussion. They will share their experiences, the factors that contributed to their protection, and their own recommendations. Their testimonies will inform a dialogue with experts, institutional actors, as well as representatives from civil society and academia.

This interactive event will bring together different experiences and expertise to identify concrete responses. It will also seek to ensure that children in street situations are better taken into account in public policies, support the effective implementation of commitments to protect their rights, and strengthen the mobilisation of International Geneva to address the violence they face.
