About this Event
How is AI transforming children’s everyday lives, from family life and education to health, care, and peer relationships? And what does this mean for children’s rights, wellbeing, and future opportunities? The panel discussion will explore how children encounter and experience AI in their daily lives. Moving beyond the hype, we will consider both the opportunities and risks of AI-driven technologies, including questions of privacy, inequality, and digital rights.
At a time when regulatory frameworks are still evolving and the political debate over how to govern AI remains very much in flux, we will ask: How can we shape digital futures that put children’s needs and rights at the centre?
We warmly invite everyone interested in childhood, AI, and the social implications of digital technologies to join the conversation.
Following a brief insight into her new book by Andra Siibak, the panel discussion will feature the following participants:
- Claudia Lampert, Leibniz Institute for Media Research
- Dagmar Monett, Berlin School of Economics and Law
- Sarah T. Roberts – UCLA School of Education & Information Studies
- Andra Siibak, University of Tartu
- Judith Simon, University of Hamburg
