Paul Harding joins Rob Shields to talk about life as a kid growing up on the St. Lawrence. What
was that like? How has it changed?
About this Event

Paul Harding is well recognized in Gananoque for his contribution to community as a music teacher, organist, choirmaster, rock musician, accompanist, conductor, and musical director. His story began as the son of Janet (Scott) Harding, who was the librarian of Gananoque Public Library in the 1930s, and Don Harding who operated Harding’s Drug Store. He and his brother were introd uced to river life at a young age.

Prof. Rob Shields grew up along the Rideau River near Kars, ON. He is Professor and Henry Marshall Tory Research Chair at the University of Alberta and is studying how life on the Canadian side of the border is changing for residents and visitors (with funding from the University of Alberta and Canada’s Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council).
