About this Event
child-like
When did life get so serious?
This programme will take you through canonic composers such as Berio and Cage, woven through with new works by Sarah Sarhandi, Chloe Knibbs, Margarida Gonçalves and Maggie Vaz Neto. Along with the music, there will be a video collage serving as score for improvisation, and a projection of lyrics translations when not in English.
This is a performance that will utilise the space in a immersive way, bringing the audience into the action, while still maintaining a spectator role.
The texts explore varied themes, from reflections on vulnerability, negative emotions, to childhood nostalgia.
Tickets and PWYC
There are various ticket prices available for purchase. All tickets give you access to both the concert and the following refreshments/social hour. The suggested price for a full ticket is £17.50.
The PWYC (Pay What You Can) Scheme is in place so people in financial hardship situations can still attend the concert. Please choose the ticket best suited to you - no questions asked.
Accessibility
Unfortunately, the wheelchair lift at the church is currently not functional. The entrance has about 7 steps and there is a light ramp available. Please contact the organiser in advance if you'd like to find out more.
