The Chicago Community Remembrance Cookout is a free, family-friendly event bringing the community together to honor lives lost to gun violence while celebrating unity, resilience, and togetherness.On May 30th, Malik Milon will hike the full length of 79th Street—from Ford City to Rainbow Beach—symbolizing the weight many families and communities carry every day.
The day will conclude at Rainbow Beach with a community cookout featuring food, music, and activities for all ages. We will also take a moment of silence followed by a balloon release to honor and remember.

All proceeds support Free Lunch Academy, a nonprofit dedicated to helping youth heal and grow through arts and education.
