About this Event
SOS Gamers is bringing chess players together for our Chess Meetup at Super Game Night!
We are building a vibrant, welcoming chess community right here at the Dave & Buster's location on Atlantic Avenue—bringing people together for both casual play and competitive tournaments. Whether you are looking to play friendly matches, hone your tactics, or compete in bracket play, every single person who attends is an essential step towards building and expanding our community. Come through, meet fellow players, test your strategy, and help us make Atlantic Ave Brooklyn’s premier chess meetup spot!
HERE'S HOW THE NIGHT WORKS:
- STEP 1: CHECK IN & GET SET UP
Head into the sports area at Dave & Buster's, check in with the SOS Gamers team, and find an open board! - STEP 2: GRAB A BOARD (OR SET UP YOUR OWN)
Take a seat at an open table! Official chess equipment is available on a 1st come, 1st serve basis due to limited availability. We strongly encourage and welcome anyone willing to bring their own chess sets so everyone gets maximum board time. - STEP 3: CASUAL & OPEN PLAY
Play casual matches, share strategies, practice openings, and connect with players of all skill levels from around the area. - STEP 4: POP-UP TOURNAMENT, PERKS & PRIZES
If we have enough interested players on the day of the meetup, we will launch an official pop-up tournament bracket! Tournament entry includes a food/drink voucher to enjoy during the event and a shot at prizes awarded to top finishers.
WHY THIS ONE IS DIFFERENT:
This isn't just another game night or a quiet lounge match—it's a structured community effort hosted inside the lively atmosphere of Super Game Night. Every player who shows up helps us establish consistent casual play and future competitive tournaments right here in Brooklyn.
