About this Event
In January 2022, Sara Holzgen, DO, unexpectedly passed away in a car accident. As an OBGYN physician who loved bringing new lives into the world, she was highly esteemed and regarded. She made every patient feel special and heard. Dr. Holzgen cherished being a teacher for our medical students and residents. She was patient, encouraging and supportive to all the learners she met.
Caitlin Brazda, DO, a friend and fellow OBGYN, has organized an initiative to establish this new fund which will honor Dr. Holzgen's memory by providing additional education resources and wellness support for our OBGYN residents. Reaching this goal will also secure the naming rights for the Birth Center 4th Floor postpartum conference room, a place where Dr. Holzgen spent many hours teaching others. By naming this room in her honor, it will be a meaningful celebration of the immeasurable impact she had on our community.
In an effort to reach our fundraising goal, we are hosting a social gathering in Sara's honor. At the event you may donate for a chance to win a Burberry purse and there will be special memorial t-shirts for sale. Also for purchase, we will have champagne glasses etched with Sara's signature and filled with her favorite bubbly. Each glass sold comes with a chance to win a bottle of champagne valued at $200!
Ticket price includes light appetizers and there will be a cash bar available. We will also be featuring live music by John Merchant!
Please note that only cash or check will be accepted at the event.
