Saddle Up for the Chaparral Music and Heritage Festival: Celebrate Local Music, Culture, and Community – VIVA Fiesta!
San Antonio, TX – Get ready for a day of live music, local flavor, and rich Texas heritage at the Chaparral Music and Heritage Festival, taking place on April 26th from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM at Civic Park. This Official Fiesta family-friendly Event offers free admission and promises a lively celebration of music, food, and culture for all ages.

Event will kick off with Mariachi Azul De San Antonio and continue with live music scheduled throughout the day.
Lacy Brinson, whose acoustic set is sure to capture the essence of Texas music. Lacy Brinson is a 2024 finalist for Best Female Country Vocalist at the San Antonio Country & Rock Music Awards, based in San Antonio. Originally from Live Oak, Florida, Lacy blends country, Southern rock, and bluegrass in her music. Known for her soulful voice, she delivers a mix of original songs and classic covers, captivating audiences at venues and events across Central Texas.
Brandon Padier & Black Gold will be bringing their fresh country vibe. Brandon is a singer/songwriter from San Antonio, Texas. With his band, Black Gold, they weave haunting melodies and enchanting lyrics with a musical style evoking the great groups of the 20th century yet maintain a sound wholly their own. His latest album, "Kintsugi" is available everywhere you listen to music.
Bobby Joe Harlow and Rock Solid - Classic Rock band covering your favorites from the past and present. Bobby Joe is a rock veteran not only in the local music scene but throughout the state and country. Great rock, blues, and some modern covers with dynamic guitar riffs and vocals, including Laura Harlow on harmonies.
The USAF Rock Band, delivers high-energy performances that showcase both their musical talent and commitment to service. With a diverse repertoire spanning classic rock, contemporary hits, and original music, they inspire and connect with audiences nationwide, embodying the Air Force’s values of integrity, service, and excellence.
Talented Violist Paul Farrell & the Bon Vivants will bring a unique blend of smooth, soulful melodies and upbeat, jazzy grooves to the stage. Their eclectic mix of genres, ranging from country to blues and beyond, sets the perfect tone for the evening.
Headlining this year’s festival, The Bill Ayers Band will deliver a high-energy performance of rock, country, and blues to close out the day. Known for their versatility, the band blends a variety of genres, from classic rock to country. Be sure to check out their debut album, Heartaches & Hangovers, available on iTunes and other platforms where music can be downloaded.
Along with the music, festival-goers can indulge in exciting Culinary Exclusives at the Watering Hole. Elevate your experience with the Cowboy Brunch, available from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. For just $50 per person, enjoy savory buttered scrambled eggs topped with ham and Gruyère, paired with hand-crafted artisan chorizo, Texas-style hash browns, Southern cornbread, and Dos Perros’ Gourmet Coffee Bar. Pick your choice of a refreshing Mimosa or Bloody Mary, the perfect way to kick off the party!
From 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, Boots, Bourbon, and Bites, offer guests a bourbon sampling, enjoy light bites such as bacon bourbon meatballs, Mexican street corn dip with tortilla chips, watermelon feta and mint skewer with balsamic drizzle and chicken wrapped in bacon with jalapeno dipped ranch. Receive a limited-edition Chaparral Western Hat, all for $75 per person.
One of the event’s most anticipated moments will be U.S. Army Golden Knights, who will land in Civic Park in a thrilling display of precision and skill. They are a comprehensive expert team critical to our U.S. Army’s success, will complete a precision parachute jump into Civic Park at Hemisfair at approximately 2-3 PM. What started in 1959 as a small competition team of skydivers is now an international icon representing the Army’s success. The Golden Knights have earned over 3,800 medals in competition while also achieving 348 world records in the process. We encourage you to bring the family out for this free opportunity to see Military City’s Historic Golden Knights.
The United States Postal Service will honor the rich legacy of bluegrass music with the dedication of the Bluegrass Stamp at Chaparral, marking a significant milestone in the celebration of this iconic American genre.
In addition to an incredible music lineup, the Chaparral Music and Heritage Festival will feature a vibrant local artisan market showcasing unique handmade goods and crafts. Attendees can enjoy a variety of Fiesta food and drinks throughout the day.

Educational activities will highlight important causes, including Bat Conservation International, which will offer guests the opportunity to learn about local wildlife preservation efforts at the Cactus Corral Tent. Stephen Lucke, Gardopia Gardens will share their current projects about fostering healthy communities through garden-based learning, while the Magik Theatre will promote their upcoming show Loteria by Mabella Reynoso May 3 to June 1. This year, we are excited to welcome the San Antonio Brahmas to Chaparral Music Festival for a special appearance just before our headlining performance! Fans will get a first look at the team’s brand-new mascot and enjoy fun giveaways to get pumped for the upcoming season. This high-energy visit comes just one day before the Brahmas’ season opener, making it the perfect opportunity for fans to show their support and gear up for game day!

Produced by the San Antonio Parks Foundation, Chaparral Music & Heritage Festival is deeply rooted in the belief systems and practices to protect, grow, nourish, and perpetuate an ecosystem of learning, camaraderie, celebration, and legacy that public parks provide to citizens and visitors as places to create and perpetuate their own storytelling for the now and future of San Antonio.
The festival helps the San Antonio Parks Foundation grow its storytelling and educational arm through interactive children’s activities, displays, and activations celebrating environmental conservation and resilience, outdoor recreation, and sustainable agriculture practices of south and central Texas.
While General Admission to the festival is free and open to the public, a limited number of Culinary Experiences tickets are available to 21+ patrons who wish to elevate their Chaparral experience.

General Admission access is free to all ages, and includes access to live music performances, local food vendors, biergarten, and artisan vendor market.

Q: What items are prohibited at the festival? A: No outside food or beverages will be permitted to comply with TABC regulations. No coolers. No bottles. No weapons of any kind. All bags subject to search.
Q: Where can I park? A: There is parking available downtown and around Hemisfair on a first-come, first-serve basis.
