The summer of 2026 will mark the beginning of a new era of growth for the Alaska Zoo. While we celebrate over 55 years of wildlife care and community service, we are embarking on a journey which will transform the zoo in many ways. We are working with BKP Arcthitects on a Master Plan, a phased approach to improvements and expansion. We are working to fit the puzzle pieces together, with each representing a project, an investment, and a partnership - all essential pieces to the larger vision.Our 2026 Champions of the Wild theme is "Piece by Piece: Building a Future for Wildlife" - a reflection of our Master Plan. Join us for this monumental gala event, held at the Alaska Zoo on the evening of Thursday, June 25th, 2026. VIP check-in starts at 4:30pm, with general guest check-in starting at 5pm. The event will conclude at 9pm with firepits and cocktails until 10pm.
Your contributions will help us raise funds for motorized carts to allow visitors of all abilities to see the zoo, place the finishing touches on the camel habitat expansion, provide animal enrichment, cover the costs of an anesthesia machine, match funds for the new zoo playground, develop scholarship funds for ASD student field trip bussing and more - piece by piece, we will make a difference together.
Other features of the evening include an artfully presented meal catered by Wild Fork, full bar services by El Rodeo, creative raffles, silent auction, live auction hosted by Dan Newman of Alaska Premier Auctions & Appraisals and Event Emcee Heather Doncaster, live music by Jared Woods and more. Join us under the tents on the zoo lawn with elegant lighting and decor for this evening in support of the Alaska Zoo's mission.
Auction previews will be added in June. Tickets are OPEN online and seating is limited, so be sure to purchase yours soon. This is the Alaska Zoo's largest annual fundraiser and seats sell out each year. We sincerely hope you will join us!
