Join The Jewish Square Mile for STEP BACK IN TIME, Medieval Jewish London History Weekend.

The weekend begins with a challah make and braid in Bakers Hall, home to the Worshipful Company of Bakers to learn how to make a challah with master baker Ray Rinkoff, together with his senior baker, Richard of Rinkoff’s Jewish bakery who have been baking challahs every Friday since 1911

On Sunday, 10th May, join us at the Barbican Centre for a One Day Medieval Jewish History Festival. Tickets are on sale now.

Discover the story of Jewish life in medieval London

A programme of expert talks, walking tour and family activities will bring this period vividly to life while challenging some of the myths that surround it. Speakers include leading scholars Dean Irwin and Rory McLellan, whose research offers fresh insight into the everyday lives and experiences of medieval Jewish London.

The Jewish Museum will be running a series of children’s activities throughout the day, with crafts including collage, hat making and brick making. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Challah Make and Braid has now sold out but we are operating a waiting list for the two lunchtime sessions: 10.30-12.00 or 1.00-2.30 Tickets £12.00
