We’re switching things up at Temple Cellars Tiong Bahru with an afternoon of naturally sparkling tea from Chengdu, China.
Meet tazaTe, a young tea producer creating complex, naturally sparkling teas using a long two-stage fermentation process inspired by the traditional method used in Champagne.
Working with organic farmers across China, tazaTe sources tea leaves — mainly from Yunnan — alongside Chinese herbs and botanicals to create sparkling teas with texture, complexity and plenty of character. Think tea, but with bubbles. And absolutely no alcohol.
For this special tasting, tazaTe co-founder Nicholas Zhang will be joining us to pour a selection from the range (new cuvees available in Singapore for the first time), share more about their unique production process, and chat about all things tea (or not).
