This course focuses on the basic principles of landscape irrigation to prepare you for the Irrigation Association's CIT Exam. It is not a comprehensive exam-preparation course, and additional study is strongly recommended prior to taking the exam.
The course covers how to cut and join pipe, know the limitations of different piping systems and understand basic hydraulics. Learn how to lay out and install piping and water delivery components; backflow prevention components; mechanical, hydraulic and electrical irrigation controls; and other irrigation system components. Develop skills to troubleshoot and repair irrigation components and systems.

Note: the class alone does not complete certification. Registration for the paper-and-pencil exam is available on the Irrigation Association webpage. Exam fee is $175 (IA Member), $300 (Nonmember.) Your class registration confirmation email contains details for registering for the exam.
