Ceramic Handbuilding Workshop: Mugs & Decorative Techniques
Join us for a fun and creative in-person event at The Bok Building / Tuft the World / Room 501 where you'll learn how to handbuild your very own ceramic mugs.
This class meets on three Sunday mornings May, 4th, 11th, and 18th
Learn to make a personalized set of mugs or cups, using a variety of clay techniques and decorative methods. Over three classes, students will use slab building, pinching, and coiling to create unique pieces to cherish or give to loved ones.
Once the mugs are formed, students will experiment with sgraffito, slip trailing, paper resist, and stencils, creating intricate patterns and textures. We will also explore the processes of inlay, image transfer, decals, and painting, to craft a distinctive set of mugs that reflect their personal style using vibrant colors and unique imagery.
This class is perfect for beginners and those looking to expand their ceramic handbuilding and decorating techniques. Don't miss out on this opportunity to get your hands dirty and make something truly special!
