Matt Johnson is recognized as one of the world’s leading magicians and escapologists. Originally from the UK, he now resides in Vancouver and has been performing magic and escapes for more than 30 years. Not your typical magician, Johnson has crafted a style known as urban deception — a refreshingly cool mix of magic and escapes combined with the comedic timing and slick stage presence of a seasoned performer.
His escapes, illusions and magic have been featured on many of the world’s top TV shows, including America’s Got Talent, Britain’s Got Talent, The World’s Best, Penn & Teller: Fool Us and The Late Late Show with James Corden, among many others.
His performances incorporate magic, escapes, sleight of hand, mind reading, the power of suggestion, razor-sharp comedy timing and audience participation into a show that has been hailed as “simply brilliant” by Simon Cowell.
