The Port Stanley Village Association, in partnership with the Oneida Nation of the Thames and Heritage Port, is honoured to co-host a special community celebration commemorating Oneida Landing Day of 1840, where they landed by boat where Little Beach is today and walked to their lands called Oneida of the Thames.Join us for an afternoon of culture, history, learning and community connection, featuring:
> Traditional lacrosse demonstrations
> Indigenous foods
> Smoke dances
> Indigenous Craft Vendors
> Opportunities to learn more about Oneida history and heritage
This gathering is an opportunity for our community to listen, learn and respectfully celebrate the living culture and heritage of the Oneida people.
We are grateful to the Oneida Nation of the Thames for sharing this opportunity with our community and to Heritage Port for helping bring this event together.
