Come and celebrate 'Making Preston a Living Wage City' at our twilight networking event.
About this Event

Join employers, policymakers and community leaders during Living Wage Week as we celebrate 25 years of the Real Living Wage movement and look ahead to the future of fair pay and good work.

Since 2001, the Living Wage movement has grown to more than 16,500 accredited employers across the UK, delivering over £4 billion in additional pay to low-paid workers. Preston is a long term supporter of this movement, with 42 Living Wage accredited employers across the city championing fair pay.

To celebrate, we're hosting an event at Society1, a vibrant co-working space in the centre of Preston and Living Wage employer.

Speakers include local Living Wage employers, as well as Councillor Valerie Wise, Deputy Leader of Preston City Council and Cabinet Member for Community Wealth Building and Sophie Little, Senior Programme Manager at the Living Wage Foundation.

We will hear from local people on the importance of committing to the real Living Wage and how it benefits organisations and employees.

  • 5:00pm - Arrival and refreshments
  • 5:30pm - Welcome and presentations
  • 6:00pm- Awards and acknowledgements
  • 6:15pm - Formal close and thanks
  • 6:15pm-7:00pm - Optional networking and refreshments

You'll be well provided for with a delicious buffet from local Living Wage food businesses. Tea, coffee and water/cordial will be freely available, and all guests will receive 1 drinks token to get a soft drink or alcoholic beverage of their choice.

Whether you're already accredited, considering accreditation, or simply interested in creating better jobs and stronger communities in our City, we'd love you to join us.
