Wayne Tucker is a New York-based trumpeter, vocalist, composer, and bandleader whose work blends jazz, soul, gospel, funk, R&B, and singer-songwriter traditions. He has performed and recorded with artists including Taylor Swift, Jay-Z, the Roots, Elvis Costello, and Jon Batiste while leading his own group, Wayne Tucker and The Bad Mothas. His albums — including When I Was a Child, Wake Up and See the Sun, and Encouragement — combine groove-driven songwriting, improvisation, and deeply personal storytelling. “I think my music is 100% vulnerable,” Tucker says. “I’m unafraid to express that true uniqueness.”
