Italian Winter trip to Celebrate the New Year in Rome, while learning Italian! Step #1 Registration SignUp Sheet InterestDecember 2026 is OPEN now! Deadline September 1st!
Space is limited so register promptly.
Anyone is welcome, friends and family included! In the morning, we will have 2.5 hours of Italian instruction and practice. There is a fair amount of walking involved in the afternoon excursions, pasta making, and sightseeing—so keep that in mind and hit the gym to prepare your muscles.
The more people we have, the better price we get. I have traveled with my students for the past 20 years, and these trips usually create lifelong memories. Many of my students have returned to Italy with me 2-3 times, as we stick to a budget while having a lot of fun.
Please make sure you do not book any excursions in Venice (my hometown—I can recommend which ones offer the best value) or book any tour extensions, unless you are willing to explore on your own after we finish our main trip. I always tell my Spanish speaking students to visit nearby Barcelona in Spain or other cities/countries of interest afterward. The Italian Alps are also great for those who like to snowboard or ski.
When booking, just choose an option with a payment plan and, if possible, international insurance. You can also book your own flights to save some money. If you have frequent flyer miles or want to use your credit cards, feel free to fly from your nearest or favorite airport.
To keep the price for students to a minimum, now is the time to register in advance for Winter 2026 and set up a monthly payment plan, which will be emailed to you once you registered with the STEP #1 Interest list. I recommend starting this early since time is our enemy, and if you do not have a passport, it usually takes a few months to arrive—especially during the holidays! If you are on the list but did NOT arrange your payments, now would be the time. Check your email send from Mae Hunt!
I’m happy to connect with you via Zoom or in person to answer any questions. Once we have the people enrolled, we will hold an orientation and Zoom presentation (likely in the Fall 2026 semester) to cover organizational details and give you some tips on how to prepare for international travel if this is your first time.
I will be there for the entire trip with you, except for the flight back, as I would like to spend some time with my mother, whom I haven't seen in over four years.
